Managing a retirement residence is not a simple task;

You answer to, and are responsible for, the well-being of: 100-150 residents, 50-70 employees and 400-600 family members and friends. All these people pull you in 3 different directions, and all want your attention.

And then there are all the different bodies that govern the operations and you have to comply with their rules – Fire safety, Public Health, RHRA, Labour Board… There are more than 20 pieces of legislation that we are accountable to.

And if that's not enough, there are the owners, the bankers, the insurance company, the union rep... all with their needs and demands.

You have to be a budgeting expert, a marketer, a politician, a psychologist, a cook, a nurse and a plumber!
